Cialis Side Effects
Emergency help should be sought if you experience an allergic reaction to Cialis such as:
- Difficult breathing
- Hives
- Swelling of the lips, tongue, face or throat
If you have any of the following side effects during sex, stop and contact your doctor immediately:
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Pain, numbing or tingling in the chest, arms, jaw or neck
Stop using Cialis if you experience any of the following:
- Sudden loss of vision
- Ringing the ears
- Sudden hearing loss
- Chest pain or heavy feeling that spreads to your arm or shoulder area
- Nausea
- Sweating
- General overall ill feeling
- Irregular heartbeat
- Shortness of breath
- Swelling the feet, ankles or hands
- Vision changes
- Light headed feeling or fainting
- Erection lasting long than four hours
Less serious Cialis side effects include:
- Redness or warmth in the face, neck or chest
- Headache
- Stuffy nose
- Upset stomach
- Back pain
This is not a complete list of side effects that may occur and side effects may vary from person to person. Alert your doctor to any bothersome side effects you experience.
Important Cialis Information
Cialis may cause blood pressure to drop to an unsafe level or drop suddenly if you take it with other medications. You may also experience side effects such as dizziness, fainting, heart attack or stroke.
Do NOT take Cialis if you use the following:
- medications containing nitrates
- recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate and butyl nitrate, these are commonly referred to as "poppers".
Be certain to alert all healthcare professionals if you take Cialis and if you require emergency medical care for a heart problem. It is also important to alert your doctor to the last time you took Cialis in an emergency.
After taking one Cialis tablet, the active ingredient may stay in your body for more than 2 days. The active ingredient may remain even longer if you have kidney or liver issues or if you are taking other medications.
Cialis Should Not Be Taken If:
- You take mediations containing nitrates or nitroglycerin for chest pain. Nitrates are commonly used in the treatment of heart conditions such as angina. This is a symptom of heart disease and may cause chest pain as well as pain in the jaw or arm. These medications are found in tablet form as well as sprays, ointments, pastes or patches. Nitrates can also be found in other medications including isosorbidedinitrate or isosorbide mononitrate. Ask your pharmacist or physician if any of your medications contain nitrates.
- You have been told not to have sex due to health problems. Sex may cause heart attack if you have a weak heart or heart disease.
- You are allergic to Cialis or its ingredients. The active ingredient in Cialis is tadalafil.
